If the amount of food you eat daily is equal to the amount you burn throughout the day, then you will stay the same weight.

If you consume more calories throughout the day than your body needs then you will gain weight.

Therefore, you will lose weight if you consume fewer calories than your body burns up.

The amount of calories will be higher for more active adults or less for sedentary individuals.

You can check how many calories are in your food by checking the nutritional labels on the packaging.
